If you look closely at the ground beneath our fruit trees at Forest Side Farm, you won’t find perfectly manicured, bare dirt paths. Instead, you’ll see a rich, wild carpet of fallen leaves, native grasses, and buzzing clover patches. To a conventional farmer, this might look untidy. To us, it is a sign of a perfectly balanced, deeply healthy ecosystem working exactly as nature intended.
When we laid the foundation of our farm stay, we stepped completely away from industrial agricultural methods. Instead, we committed fully to the long-term practice of regenerative organic farming in India. In our 2.5-acre food forest, we never use chemical fertilizers, synthetic weed killers, or harsh pesticides. Instead, we rely on the power of biodiversity. Over 500 trees—ranging from avocados and guavas to native citrus fruits—grow together in multi-layered canopies, naturally protecting and nourishing one another.
By treating the soil as a living entity, we create a self-sustaining cycle where birds, beneficial insects, and our resident bees handle pest control and pollination completely on their own. This dedicated approach to regenerative organic farming in India means that the food landing on your plate at Forest Side Farm isn't just organic; it is packed with the genuine, complex flavors of a truly alive earth. It takes more patience and physical labor to farm this way, but the reward is a thriving piece of paradise that leaves the land richer than we found it.
